Challenge

Canva needed seasonal template content that would genuinely resonate with UK users (not global designs with a Union Jack dropped in). The opportunity was to identify the moments that actually matter to British audiences and build creative systems around them that felt specific, considered and shareable. With seasonal windows being short and volume expectations high, the work had to be both strategically grounded and execution-ready.

Solution

Working from a mix of defined briefs, including St. George's Day and Valentine's Day as high-relevance opportunities to build template suites around. For each moment, I developed the full creative direction and designed the assets myself, spanning formats from A3 posters and social banners to mobile video and tickets.

The approach prioritised cultural specificity over generic seasonal aesthetics. For St. George's Day, that meant leaning into Britishness intentionally and crafting a visual language that felt celebratory. For Valentine's Day, the focus shifted to tone — playful, personality-led copy and illustration styles that stood apart from the predictable.

Impact

Selected template suites were featured and promoted by Canva, surfacing as recommended seasonal content for the UK market.
